For the last 20-years and counting, the Afrikan Restoration Project is a Long Beach based non-profit organization that strives to uplift underserved communities, especially those of African descent throughout our local and global community.
Our mission is to serve as an African cultural resource that provides re-education of World African Centered histories, arts, writings, and principles to help with holistically re-socializing, healing, and renewing those of underserved backgrounds, especially those of African descent.
Our vision is to continue to reach back and pull one another forward from the remnants of all that has been lost or simply misunderstood as we support the foster youth, students, professionals, formerly incarcerated , and families who are willing to give and receive with us.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
We recognize the relevance of culture, diversity, and inclusion while being Black/ African American within the United States of America. As many of our everyday barriers and generational conflicts stem from our cultural identities and history. Therefore, we believe that focusing our attention towards healing and serving the Black/ African American community is an essential step to achieve the ultimate goal of global equity and unity.
We believe that success is only possible when people have the opportunity to connect, enterprise, and exchange value within the community. We are on a mission to create those opportunities for people to become successful within their own right by sharing job opportunities and enriching cultural experiences. We advocate for all people in their pursuit to success and offer support to the members of our community.
We believe that re-education of the history and truth of people of African descent is essential to the community’s ability to self identify and collectively succeed. We desire to aid in the re-education process for the community by hosting lectures for those willing to teach or be taught. Reaching back and pulling forward all that has been lost or simply misunderstood for intellectual nourishment of our community.
We desire to create a safe space for us to release our generational trauma, misconceptions, and fears together as a community. We acknowledge and accept all the identities that co-exist within our community and strive to unite on the premise of our history to eventually properly address our sub-communities defined by our gender, sex, relgions, and etc. We are only stronger together and together we can go far through love, knowledge, and respect.
